New Partners

New Partners

In November, the City of Moscow Parks and Recreation department approached the 4-H program and wanted to partner with them.  In an effort to keep youth busy and engaged in learning, when school is out on Fridays.

The project days include basic art skills, wildlife, robotics, farm tours and woodworking. All these day classes allow students to learn a skill and take something home to show what they learned.

The facility and registration would come from the Parks department, while 4-H would provide the volunteers and supplies. In return for its effort, 4-H would earn back some money from its programs.

It will be an exciting opportunity for both groups.

Training for Leaders

Training for Leaders

In its continuing effort to provide quality leadership, Latah County, along with Nez Perce and Lewis Counties, will be hosting a day-long leadership workshop. It is designed for both new and old leaders to meet their training requirments as well as gain new ideas for how to approach projects.

Topics include:
-Child Protection: looking for signs for child abuse and how to report it
-Livestock Judging 101: learn what judges look for and how to teach your club memebers
-International Programs: 4-H is not just about being a good citizen locally, but also gloabally. Learn about summer programs and funding for club memebers who want to stretch their wings and go beyond the boarders
-Quilts!: See what other leaders are doing with their quilting projects
-Dutch Oven Cooking: It is classic and always amazes people of the quality food that can be made outdoors!

And much more!
